BrineRIS is an international RIS capacity-building project that deals with recovering valuable metals from geothermal brines using natural heat from inside the earth. The project’s main objectives are:
– to identify potential sources of geothermal brines in six countries eligible for the Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS)
– to raise awareness of sustainable mining and innovative technologies in the wide society of RIS countries
– to build capacity and develop competencies of professionals and students in RIS countries
– to test and develop three recovery technologies for lithium and other elements,
– to develop an investment case for European Raw Materials Alliance and an interactive platform for potential investors,
Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology coordinates a consortium of nine partners from Poland, Hungary, Spain, Belgium, Germany and Finland. They implement nine work packages within three years (2022-2024).
