The presentation of the results of the BrineRIS project, focusing on identifying the potential of geothermal brines as a source of lithium in selected RIS (Regional Innovation Scheme) countries in Southern and Eastern Europe, was particularly interesting for the participants.

Dr. Magdalena Worsa-Kozak, project manager, presented key results of the consortium’s work such as the results of chemical analyses in partner countries and an interactive platform depicting the distribution of lithium concentrations in Europe, and emphasized the importance of the project for building a sustainable and resilient lithium supply chain in lower-tech regions.

🌍 The range of topics included:
– supply chain security and EU strategy,
– innovations in lithium recycling,
– practical workshops on eLi initiatives for 2025-2026.
